The General Pharmaceutical Council’s launch is set to be delayed until atleast spring 2010.
Chief Exec Duncan Rudkin told the Pharmaceutical Journal “the regulator is still on target to become a legal entity in the spring, but said he is currently unable to give a firm date for when the new body will actually go live with pharmacy regulation”.
“We’re working hard with Society staff and … Department of Health officials so that we can fix a date as soon as possible,” said Mr Rudkin, stressing that he wants to make sure he has a start date that everyone can be completely confident in before making any announcements.
